Life change is at the heart of what we want to see and taste at Cannon Church. We know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful enough to produce it in all of our lives. We've seen it time and time again. Each time we see and hear it, we celebrate and praise our Lord. Take a peek at some of the lives we've been blessed to see God change.

"Hearts for Soles"
December 9, 2010
I am writing this letter as my thank you and testimony of how your ministry, “Hearts for Soles” blessed me and my family. My family has been seriously struggling financially as my husband has been out of work over a year. I can attest to being down to your last dime.
One morning as we were getting dressed for school, my daughter struggled to fit into a pair of pants that were chosen for her to wear. To ease her struggle, I simply told her to get the pants that she had worn the day before and she would be fine. Well our struggle had ended so I thought until she began to put her shoes on and noticed that they were coming apart at the sole. I took the shoe to inspect and see how bad they were, my only reply was “I think you will be fine if you don’t have P.E. today.” At that moment, my daughter threw her hands in the air and began to have a meltdown. “I don’t have pants, I don’t have a coat, and now my shoes are broken.” I had no words for her at this time. I walked away feeling helpless. I couldn’t even open my mouth to pray. I’d never felt so helpless. I had no solution or anything that I could offer her, not even a word. I remember this feeling of numbness in my heart. I wanted to scream but nothing came, not a word or sigh.
We managed to get dress and off to school with our falling apart shoes. After arriving at work, I was asked by my co-worker to “come by and see me”. We chatted for a minute and then she said that she had something that she wanted to share with me. She proceeded to tell me about the ministry “Hearts for Soles”. She asked if I could use a coupon. All I could do at that moment was cry, my heart was overwhelmed with relief. I felt as if God was standing next to me saying “I love you and I would never leave you or forsake you”. I shared my story with her. We were both amazed. She shared with me her story. She had planned to get the coupons over the weekend but didn’t. The day before she knew she had to get them that very day. She said she felt a special tugging to get them that day WITHOUT FAIL!! Talk about God’s Timing. The story doesn’t end here because that evening when we went to get the shoes for my daughters, there was another family in the store using the very same coupons. My daughters were so excited to see that they weren’t different from other kids. As they shopped for shoes, I reflected on my day and thanked God for providing for us and the joy that He brought to the hearts of my children.
May the Lord continue to bless “Hearts of Soles” ministry. I am a living testimony that sharing soles can touch the souls of others.
