Twice a year, we support the Southeast Gwinnett Co-op Ministry by having food drives here at Cannon. Usually, one will be held at the beginning of the year and one mid-year. We ask for donations of staple foods, soaps, toilet tissue, and other commonly needed items. Our church also supports the Co-op with a monetary donation on a monthly basis.
Cannon Church leads the community in a food drive during October - named, It’s Spooky to Be Hungry. During this food drive, Cannon volunteers pass through neighborhoods the week before October 31 leaving a grocery sack and a letter asking people to leave filled bags of groceries on their front door step on a specified day. Then, on that day, between Noon and 5 p.m., volunteers will again walk through their neighborhoods and collect the items left by the front door. The collected goods will be returned to Cannon Church, then donated to the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry.
