Approximately one month prior to Christmas, several artificial Christmas trees are set up in convenient locations throughout the church, where we ask the congregation for gifts of new items. These items go to needy women and children in our community. We specifically as for gifts of the following: mittens, hats, gloves, scarves, socks. These gifts are then hung on our Mitten Trees as decorations. Prior to Christmas Day, we distribute these gifts to the needy women and children, to various places where we see a need - SouthEast Gwinnett Co-op, the United Methodist Children's Home, etc.
