Welcome!

We are glad you are here!

Let’s make your first visit to Cannon a great experience!

Introduction

As you consider visiting our campus for worship, we want to help. Welcoming newcomers is some of our most important work. Our God is a God of hospitality. Being new and in an unfamiliar setting in a worship community can be a bit daunting, so we thought a bit of information about us might be helpful.

Worshiping God is our highest priority at Cannon. When you worship at Cannon, we hope you experience the grace of God and the hospitality of our congregation. Each Sunday we offer three services.

Worship

All of our regular Sunday services take place in the Sanctuary.

Our 8 am service is an intimate worship gathering featuring organ, hymns, and creeds.

The Worship Band leads our modern 9:30am service. We worship God through new and familiar music from Hillsong, Bethel, Chris Tomlin, All Sons and Daughters and more. Middle and High School students, you are welcome to sit with your family, or you can sit with (new) friends in our Student Ministry section!

Our 11 am service is rooted in a living tradition, incorporating hymns, creeds, organ, piano, hand-bells, children’s choirs, adult choirs and orchestra.

Our services are for all ages. Families are welcome to experience the worship of God together or we also offer unique Sunday morning worship and small group opportunities just for children, too! For more information, visit Cannon Kids, or Student Ministries.

*Please note we offer Holy Communion at all of our worship services on the first Sunday of each month.

Children

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” (Matthew 19:14). We love children at Cannon and want to help them love and worship God. Children are welcome to worship with you in the sanctuary or they can attend a worship setting designed for them. From nursery care-5th grade we have a place just for them. You can find out all the information by clicking here.

Students

All of our worship services are family friendly and we welcome students to join us. In addition to our normal time of worship, our students also meet for small groups each Sunday at 11 am. Click here for more information.

Dress

Come as you are. People dress both formally and casually at Cannon. You would feel comfortable dressed in dresses, suits, ties, graphic t-shirts or jeans. You will not feel out of place either way. We are simply glad you are here!

Music

The music ministry of Cannon serves to lead and enhance worship. With a variety of ensembles and opportunities for musicians of all levels, all are welcome to join in making a joyful noise for the glory of God.

We offer two adult choirs – the Worship Choir and the Rise & Shine Choir. The Worship Choir provides musical leadership for the 11:00am worship service each week and rehearses every Wednesday during the program year from 7:30-9:00pm. The Rise & Shine Choir sings for the 8:00am service 4-5 times a year and they rehearse as needed on Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:15am.

The Worship Band leads our modern 9:30am service. The worship music consists of songs by artists such as Hillsong, Bethel, Chris Tomlin, All Sons and Daughters and more. They rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm.

The Orchestra and Cannon Covenant Ringers (handbells) are our two exclusively instrumental ensembles. Both ensembles enhance worship with their melodious sounds 5-6 times per year. The orchestra rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:25pm. The Cannon Covenant Ringers rehearse on Sunday afternoons – (TIME TBD) for 2017-2018. Some music reading ability is preferred for both ensembles. Youth and Adults are invited to play with both ensembles.

We have a fully graded children’s and youth choir program, offering choirs with age-appropriate music education and faith formation for children and youth ages 3-18. These choirs sing regularly throughout the year at both the 9:30 and 11:00am services. All of our children’s and youth choirs rehearse on Wednesday, as an integral element of our Wednesday Night Live program. In addition, the youth choir typically goes on a week-long tour each year.
