Cannon loves partnering with our community. Opportunities to serve and share vary, however we have a monthly churchwide focus with one of our local partners that include PRAY, SERVE, and GIVE options. Gather at The Table Community Dinner at the Southeast Gwinnett Coop
Church was not always done the way we do it. There was a time when Christians gathered around tables, included the strangers and the poor, ate together, and talked about Jesus. This form of church occurred mostly during the first three hundred years of Christianity, and was highly effective in bringing lost people to Jesus. While the church of today is very meaningful to Christ-followers, it is failing to help our lost neighbors find their way to the Savior. That is no small concern for Jesus’ churches, all of which are called to be in the rescue business. Check out this video to learn more and hear from our team.
Cannon, Lawrenceville First UMC, and the Co-op share the cost of our monthly meals. All financial contributions are welcome to offset the cost of each meal. Please prayerfully consider a donation. You can give online at the link below on the “dinner church” line.
We gather every third Thursday, 6-7:30 pm to share a meal, a Jesus story, and foster relationships with our neighbors. If you are interested in serving on the team every month or coming occasionally to help out, contact Pastor Heather for more info: heatherj@cannonchurch.org
Family Promise Gwinnett
Contact: Heather Jallad
Family Promise of Gwinnett County is a community based response that brings existing local resources together to help homeless children and their families regain their housing and their independence, while maintaining their dignity through mobilizing congregations of faith, community volunteers, and social service agencies. Through intensive case management and counseling, we address the underlying causes of homelessness. Together we are ending homelessness – one family at a time. Cannon provides volunteers to provide evening meals at Promise Haven, serve as overnight hosts on weekends, assist the office staff at the Day Center, and put on special events.
